Breakfast...delicious tasty breakfast (sigh).
Breakfast is most definitely my favourite meal of the day, which is slightly ironic considering that my usual breakfast consists of me rushing out the door with a slice of stolen toast in hand. But I aim to redeem! I have taken it upon myself to make sure that on Saturday/Sunday I whack on some Frank Sinatra, have a dance and cook breakfast for myself and if I'm feel generous my family too.
I like simplicity. I like recipes that require minimum effort with taste-bud tingling outcomes, and this french toast recipe is exactly that. I combined eggs, vanilla essence, cinnamon and a dash of milk into a jug and gave it a good whisk. I then poured the mixture onto a plate and soaked both sides of the bread. I then placed the bread into a pan (which I had already sprayed with some low fat oil) and cooked both sides until golden brown. I then served it with maple syrup and strawberries. It is as easy as that and so bloomin delicious!
I find the best way to enjoy it is to make a big batch and invite family and friends round. It's such a lovely way to spend a weekend morning.
